This course is specifically tailored to North Carolina and will provide current information and guidelines for safe treatment of patients and protection of dental professionals.
Infection Control recommendations and guidelines from OSAP, IPAC, CDC, and various provincial resources will be presented and discussed. Infection control review with the office team aids in follow through in the office on a day-to-day basis as well as development of office systems.
Each participant will leave with a wealth of references to utilize in the establishment of office protocols. Let's talk about what recommendations / guidelines advice should be done and then evaluate what we are currently doing!

Tricia Osuna, RDH, BSDH, FAADH
Tricia received a Bachelor of Science degree in Dental Hygiene from the School of Dentistry, University of Southern California in 1978. She has been in clinical practice in the Los Angeles area for over 37 years, and holds a license in the state of New York as well. She served for four years as the Dental Hygienist Representative on the USC Dental Alumni Association Board of Directors. She is a Founding Member of the American Board of Facial Esthetics. Tricia was a clinical instructor at the UCLA School of Dentistry in the Department of Advanced General Dentistry.
Tricia has authored numerous articles on topics such as: Empowering Dental Hygienists, Magnification, Xerostomia, Digital Radiography, Ergonomics, The use of Safety Syringes, Handpiece Selection Criteria, Intra Oral Cameras, Amalgam Separators and Local Anesthtetic Reversal Agents as well as a chapter in the book, Demystifying Smiles, on fluoride utilization.
Tricia owns her own company, Professional Insights, Inc., which provides consulting services, continuing education courses, student education presentations and market research evaluations on dental and dental hygiene products to companies worldwide. She was the Corporate Relations Consultant for the California Dental Hygienists' Association for seven years.
Tricia enjoys presenting at seminars and research clinics on a variety of topics. She has lectured throughout the US and internationally.
